Charles MacIsaac -President and Owner- I am the son of Mike and Nancy (Deveau) MacIsaac and older brother to Craig MacIsaac. Born and brought up in Yarmouth N.S. I went to post secondary school at Saint Mary’s University in Halifax before pursuing a law enforcement career in 2007 with the Ontario Provincial Police. I was stationed in Sioux Lookout Ontario and in 2010 decided to make a career change by moving back to Yarmouth, Nova Scotia. In the fall of 2010 I started a funeral director and embalmer apprenticeship underneath my father’s guidance through Nova Scotia Community College. In 2012 I became a fully licensed funeral director and embalmer. In July 2015 I married Francine (d’Entremont) MacIsaac of Middle West Pubnico. After 10 years at Sweeny’s Funeral Home and Crematorium I purchased the business from my father and look forward to many more looking after families as if they were my own.
Former Owner Mike MacIsaac is from a family of 13 siblings and a son of Charles and Anna (Doucette) MacIsaac. Mike grew up in the South End of Yarmouth and has been married to Nancy (Deveau) MacIsaac for 39 years. Mike and Nancy have two sons Charles and Craig MacIsaac. Charles is the manager of Sweeny's Funeral Home and Crematorium, and Craig is a firefighter in Halifax Regional Municipality. Mike has over 40 years in the funeral profession and has enjoyed his career helping people in their time of need.
Kim Boudreau- I live in Middle West Pubnico with my husband Chris Boudreau and our three daughters. Born and raised in Yarmouth County I am the daughter of Graham and Judy D’Eon and Bob Allen. I received my post secondary education at the Kings Tech Campus in 2001, graduating from the Funeral and Allied Service Program, then becoming a licensed funeral director and embalmer. I have been in the Funeral Profession for 17 years, working in various locations in the province. I have profound understanding of death and grief, and will strive to serve your family as my own. I will walk beside you every step of “your” journey, and hope to do so for many years to come.
Charles Crosby was born in Yarmouth Nova Scotia in the South End. He is known to be very active in the community and an advocate for many organizations. He served many terms as the mayor of Yarmouth before retiring and joining the Sweeny’s Funeral Home family for a second time. In 1965 he first started working for Sweenys Funeral Home under Bob Sweeny and then Layton Goodwin. Charles or “Tick” as he is more commonly known is Charles MacIsaac's god father. You will always find Tick greeting people with a friendly handshake and smile.
Born and raised in Brazil Lake, on the outskirts of Yarmouth, I am the oldest son of Rev. Richard and Elizabeth Moore. Jane (Flowers) and I have been married for over 30 years, parents to three amazing (we may be biased!) young adults.
I attended Bethany Bible College (now Kingswood University), graduating with a teaching degree. I taught 1-12 Physical Education and elementary for several years as well as being involved on a volunteer basis with a number of children’s organizations. A career shift has led me to working fulltime in pastoral ministry for more than twenty years. The diversity of this position has helped me to appreciate the complex range of emotions that occur with the passing of a loved one. Willing to lend a hand whenever needed, I’ll always be ready to with an encouraging word and a smile.
Robert Crosby - I was born and raised in the South End of Yarmouth and am the youngest child of Gregory and Jerry (Amiro) Crosby. Yes, I am a part of the Crosby clan that includes fellow Sweeny's staff member Charles Crosby. I am happily married to Corinne Frost, also of Yarmouth. After spending 12 years in Calgary, where I worked in telecommunications, we decided in 2021 that it was time to move back home and be closer to family. I was looking for a new career path when I started at Sweeny's. While I am new to this sort of work, I am dedicated to ensuring you and your family are taken care of with nothing but compassion and empathy.
Hi, my name is Tom Nickerson, I am the son of James and Dorothy (Goodwin) Nickerson. I live in Arcadia with my spouse Cindy and our fur baby Ginger. I am a step -dad to 2 great guys, Joel and Ryan, in which I'm very proud of. I worked for Tri County Regional Centre for Education for 45 years, and retired this past June. During that time, I volunteered for Scouts Canada, coached baseball and served on the School Advisory Council for 2 terms. I always talked about wanting to work in a funeral home. I wanted to help grieving families with kind, encouraging words while being empathetic to their feelings. I always felt that seeing a familiar face may take some of their grief away, if only for a moment.
